It looks like the place is rapidly receding from the photographer, or is an over the shoulder kind of shot. Perhaps you were running scared, though this does not look like a menacing subject, no visible rottweilers for instance.

Actually, I was in a part of town where leaving quickly is usually a damn good idea. I don’t go there by myself.
