It was a three-stool place
Portland is famous for its food carts. How famous? So famous the food carts have their own website. On that website, there are over 100 different cuisines listed, so no matter your particular food carving, you’ll probably be able to find a cart that’s to your liking.
Here are three stools, waiting on customers, at a food cart pod at SW 9th and Alder (the largest in the concentration of street food in America, according to the food-cart website).

I’m fairly sure I’ve eaten at that very cart. Do you remember what kind of food it served?

The odds are that it served gyros! But I sort of think it was tacos… I do recall that it was on Alder between 9th and 10th.

If it was a gyro place, then yes. If tacos, then no. That food cart area on Alder is THE BEST.

I went there twice – had grilled cheese this first time and the best jambalaya outside of New Orleans the second. Obviously I need to go back 58 more time so I can sample everything.
