Snow-globe Jesus

I go to a lot of cemeteries.

I’d never seen anything like this before – a jar put into service as a sort of snow-globe Jesus pressed into the concrete cross.

  3. As soon as I saw this, I thought Latin America. Cemeteries I have been to in Guatemala and South America are filled with creative memorials like these. I love your title, Melinda and they way that there is almost a halo of light around the cross.

    • Thanks, Kate. The “halo” is part of what I learned in photography school, which I am still learning how to use comfortably. Glad to know you think it worked on this shot.

I started to second-guess my title – I was worried that it might be inappropriate. But I shook off the doubts because I decided it was the best description I could come up with!

  4. Oh, does New Mexico count as Latin America? Of course I know it is part of the USA, but I imagine the culture to still be very Latin, as parts of Arizona are.
