Intersection
I really do like brick streets: they have more character than asphalt paving. Also, they provide some helpful leading lines in this shot of yet another abandoned gas station.
(Don’t worry if you’re driving through Olney and are low on fuel: there’s a Shell station over on the main road.)

Thanks, Richard. I *almost* thought I wouldn’t find anything to photograph in this town. Until I saw the bricks!

Oh, yes – plenty of this stuff to choose from, as we’ve discussed earlier!

They’re also complete misery in the snow…

And rain, too. At least that’s what I heard from the old folks. It’s so dry around here that I don’t actually have any first hand knowledge…

I admit, they do look better; but I’m not a fan of brick streets. I surmised there might not be a whole lot of snow in your neighborhood (but I wouldn’t know).

Last year we had Winter Storm Goliath and got a foot or so of snow. Everything was shut down for about a week.
Of course, there was also the time when a winter storm was predicted to hit in three or four days, and bring 18″ of snow; the school district went ahead and cancelled classes and the grocery stores sold everything but one or two shriveled up old potatoes.
And then…we got (this is a generous estimate) 18 FLAKES of snow. It was both extremely funny and very frustrating.

That is funny (to me). What happened to the shriveled up potatoes?

Funny story: I actually bought them. I’m taking them with me to Colorado next week as a gift for someone! (Try to act surprised.)
