The long and well-lighted hallway
This is a pretty crappy hotel – cardboard boxes and other flammable stuff stored in the fire exit, lumpy pillows, exfoliating towels, etc. But it did have this going for it: a nice view of a long, lighted hallway.
So, there’s that.

Sue, I tried that, but it didn’t seem like there was enough left over to be interesting. After I thought about it, I decided the car was part of the implied narrative of the story.
If I’d had time I might have been able to frame the shot differently, but I only had time to make one quick, almost reflexive shot before that man in the hallway got away.
