Kenton, Oklahoma, is the sort of town that you probably won’t just wander to: it’s way over in the far end of the Oklahoma panhandle, and if you’re coming into town from the west, from New Mexico, you’d better plan on driving on quite a few miles of unpaved roads.
But that’s the charm of it.
And if you’d like to live there, here’s a place that’s for sale.

Thanks! Just this past Saturday, I went to a little town named Ropesville, but that everyone calls Ropes. There are only a few hundred people in the town, but they have a really big football stadium. Of course. Because Texas.
Anyway, it was a fun little trip, and that stadium photo will post next week.

Thanks – this was actually my second visit there. A friend took me there a long time ago, and I’d never forgotten how beautiful that part of Oklahoma was. I was glad to figure out a way to get back.

I love unpaved roads .. Mind you, we live on one, hence my car is dirty most of the year. Great image 😃

Thank you, Julie. (We are going to be moving from town to a place in the country that’s on an unpaved road. I think we need to get dirt-colored cars before the move – my current car is red – so they won’t look so bad.)

It’s been (and still is) a very long process…but maybe by this time next year, we will have moved. I’ve already taken a LOT of photos of the land, but it will be fun to document the from-the-ground-up construction process. (Once we can ever decide on a floor plan we like!)
