Good advice, especially for people going through their own struggles.

I hate those one step downs in a couple of friends homes. This is crazy or the owner was VERY tall. Yet another good find. Hope your Christmas was good and your recovery is going well.

Our house, which was built in the late 1970s, used to have a step down into the living room, but in one of our (numerous) renovations, we filled it in. The house was very much of the 70s – in addition to that, there was a wall that had rough sawn cedar siding, carpet, and smoked glass mirrors; there was a mirror on the back wall of the bathtub; and a planter – with dirt and a water spigot – under the stairs. All of those things are gone now. (That awful mirror was the first.)
My recovery is lurching along. My friend Susan, who’s had the same procedure, told me that it wasn’t going to be a straight trajectory, and she was right. The last couple of days have been hard, but I feel like maybe I’ve turned a corner now… Thanks for checking.
