The light is stunning and the composition is excellent. Strange conversion of use but even stranger confluence of your photographic interests.

I know! I’d photographed these parking places before (in 2010 – http://365photosin2010.blogspot.com/2010/04/april-3.html) and I was happy to have a chance to take another look at them.

The newer version is a much stronger image – your photography has come a long way indeed!

Thanks! It’s very nearly painful to look back at the first years of the blog – that was some bad photography!

Well, I would not say that, there are a lot of interesting photos – your excellent eye was already showing. The early low res and very saturated digital photos are less appealing just because of the look that those cameras gave to images, but the underlying photos are nice. Many would be great in black and white.

Thanks for being so kind about that early stuff!

A flood of light. A fussy judge would criticize the burnt out highlights but he/she would be so wrong. That pool of bright light instantly reminds me of emerging from somewhere dark into the bright light of day and having to screw your eyes up because the world is too bright.

Without the bright light at the far end of the space, the photo would have been pretty boring, I think.
Bare concrete doesn’t seem like it would be that reflective, so I am always pleasantly surprised by the amount of light that bounces around it.

Thanks, Julie. I had high hopes for this one as soon as I saw it on the camera monitor.
