Spikes of various kinds
My part of Texas does not have what one could consider to be a “lush” landscape. It is rather spiky, in fact, to the point that the plant forms influence the local art.

It’s harder to find the beauty here, but if you slow down and look long enough, it’s there. Just less intuitive than say, a beach.
