Tacos de Beef
Maybe it’s time for a lunch break? Go to San Antonio – it’s got a lot to choose from. For example, just in the width of a camera’s frame, you can get gorditas, tacos, fajitas, or tripas.
(NOTE: Autocorrect must have previously tasted tripas and is set on protecting my loyal follower(s) from them: it keeps trying to change it to “trips.” This is one time when I sort of support Autocorrect’s decision.)

I notice that autocorrect also changed “res” to “beef”. 😉

I guess the sign-maker is also at the mercy of autocorrect!

I’m going with the AutoCorrect on this one too.

Yep. Just thinking about tripas makes my throat start to constrict…

My first airline flight, age 8, at 14,000 feet over the Appalachians in a storm — they served tripe. The results were, uh, colorful.

Why? Why would they serve tripe on an airplane??

Well, Capital Airlines ceased operations in 1961 when it merged into United. I don’t think United serves tripe. At least, not as food.

I do have to say the idea of being served tripe (as “food”) on an airline makes the prospect of literally any other airline “food” sound much more appealing.

It does have that effect. Maybe that’s why United wanted to merge.

“We don’t serve tripe!” -an early marketing slogan. Maybe.
