Blues

I’m in a mood, I guess, and my mind keeps giving me things to see and then jumping to think about something that is completely unrelated to what I just saw. Don’t get me wrong – that isn’t an uncommon occurrence. It’s just becoming more common.

And that’s why this looked like black lace overlaid on smooth blue fabric.

  1. 2 days, 2 color images. Yep, I noticed.

Lace? I see that but it’s the power of suggestion at work. Those diagonal bracing cables got my attention. That’s how it goes when you build stuff, I guess. Your visualization is more fun than mine.

    • Oh, don’t worry. I’ll be back to my normal-ish posts tomorrow…

What is it that you build?

      • Furniture but not so much any longer. Mostly repairs now but I often have to rebuild something that got damaged, either by customer use or in transit from the manufacturer. I am concerned with how well things are made…not so good these days…and notice construction elements.

      • Yes, new furniture is crap, but makes up for it by being pretty expensive!!

My granddaughter, who’s nearly 13, got a lesson in using a router and a sheet sander yesterday. She and her dad are building shelves for her room. I’m very happy she’s learning how to do that!

      • We had a very nice line of solid cherry furniture but they went out of business. It was expensive but was very well built and could easily become a family heirloom. Cheap apparently is more important now than quality. I enjoy refinishing old furniture much more than trying to dress up the less than good stuff we are forced to sell now. That’s great that your granddaughter is learning to use tools.

      • My son and daughter-in-law are doing a great job with their two daughters, giving them all kinds of opportunities like learning to use a router. My favorite thing is that he uses “throw like a girl” as a good thing, something they aspire to.

  2. Well it does look like that. So there’s that. I think color suits you well.
