Let there be…lamps
Four years after I made this shot, my memory of the exact sequence of events is a little less than clear. However, I am making an educated guess that this was what happened:
- We drove through town.
- I saw this window display.
- Two blocks later, I said to the Patient Spouse, “You’ll need to turn around.”
And you know the rest…

I hope the news wasn’t too shocking; my apologies if it was.
Fun Fact: I was through that town earlier today. And those lamps are STILL THERE, though the shade on the one on the right is in tatters.
Another Fun Fact: This time, I was watching and directed the Patient Spouse to stop right in front of the place. I was at the top of my game there for a minute.

Too many grins to count. A familiar sequence of events…meanwhile, splendid, fascinating capture, well worth the doubling back. Smiling cheers- autumn jade

Thanks! I love finding stuff like this – the other side of the store was full of stacks of old dishes; they looked so sad and dusty and I wanted to adopt them.

How vividly I can relate. I live for such finds…this place sounds like heaven. 😀

Hey, guess what I did? I went back there a couple of weeks ago. The lamps are still there, looking worse for four more years of dust and sun on them.

I cannot stop laughing. This place is becoming so famous for haggard, lonely dishwear and dreary, dusty, sun-bleached lamps, I may just have to travel up there one day to see it for myself. Cheers! And happy weekend to you 😉

At least it’s famous for something, I guess! If you head that way, go on up to the next town, Springfield, where you can see a sign in a window that says “Dominoe.”
