Snow/Day

When I first started posting daily photographs, I was really good about taking time every day to find something to photograph. Now that I am starting my fourth year of daily postings, I am trying to get back to actively looking around me every day, and finding the beauty in the mundane.

This was shot on my drive home from work this afternoon.

Kitchen renovation started yesterday.

All the living room and dining room furniture is in storage for the duration. All the kitchen stuff is lined up on the floor of the living room. The breakable stuff – including these vintage Pyrex mixing bowls – are in the “safety zone” which is the area behind plastic storage tubs that are filled with other stuff. (Other stuff = wine bottles and jars and jars of homemade pickles.)

The new year is off to an interesting start.

My resolution: to avoid emotional breakdowns while the project is underway!

The way this graffiti was painted over, you can barely tell it was ever there.

Well, of course a jar of beans is not the same thing as Can o’ Beans, but it still sort of makes me think of Skinny Legs and All, by Tom Robbins. I can’t help it – it’s just the way I think.
