The graffiti houses of Portales: Coupe de Grâce
Another dead elm tree delivers the coup de grâce to an abandoned farmhouse. The only difference here is that this particular house has been decorated, for reasons that I can’t know.*

*My little granddaughter, Bennett, used to say “I can’t know.” when she really meant she didn’t know. It was a sad day when she moved on from that, but I’ve decided to carry the “I can’t know” torch for her.
Why we can’t have nice things
Don’t. Just don’t. Don’t turn the sofa over. Don’t leave your beer can on the counter. Don’t leave all that trash on the floor.
And don’t leave the curtains open so photographers can look inside.*

*For the record, I only look inside places I am sure are vacant.
