Her simple gesture

A little sign out on the main road pointed us toward St. David’s Church.

The virgin seems a little defiant at the attention the spotlight is giving Her, don’t you think?

The most interesting thing about this is that it’s 19 feet below sea level.

Carnival Season

We were somehow unaware that our visit to Crowley coincided with the annual International Rice Festival. but that’s what happens when you fail to fully research the places you plan to visit, or don’t even know for sure where you’re going until you get there. So, there in Crowley, the main street was blocked for the festival so we picked our through town and ended up seeing what I guess was the back of the midway. It was an unexpectedly nice view.

Sadly, our schedule didn’t leave time for a visit, which is a shame – it looks like we missed a pretty good time. And we’ll never know who was crowned this year’s Chef de Riz.

I Shall Not Want

I recently spent some time in Louisiana, shooting for a long-term project that may actually be nearly done.

And, naturally, while i was working on that, I kept my eyes open for other things to photograph. Like the inside of this tomb.

Not a clue

If anyone knows why there would be a metal tank (with a hole in the bottom) snuggled up next to a grave marker, can you please let me know?

Thank you in advance for your knowlege.
