Carnival Season
We were somehow unaware that our visit to Crowley coincided with the annual International Rice Festival. but that’s what happens when you fail to fully research the places you plan to visit, or don’t even know for sure where you’re going until you get there. So, there in Crowley, the main street was blocked for the festival so we picked our through town and ended up seeing what I guess was the back of the midway. It was an unexpectedly nice view.
Sadly, our schedule didn’t leave time for a visit, which is a shame – it looks like we missed a pretty good time. And we’ll never know who was crowned this year’s Chef de Riz.

I’m impressed! Not just any rice festival but the International one. No wonder those 3 came early.

Why go to a regular rice festival when the International one is RIGHT THERE?
And those three not only got there early, but are hurrying to get in!
