They seem almost menacing in that half-light… refugees waiting to for succor or soldiers ready to do battle in some fake-baroque place?

Lucky for me that my work friends who were with me on this trip are tolerant of my photography, and don’t (seem to) mind when I have to stop and photograph things like this.
