Thanks – the only light source was my cell phone screen.

Oh, nice! I remember earlier ones from this series. Nice to see that there are more.

Our conversation earlier this week re. soft focus shots reminded me that I still had this one hanging around, waiting to be noticed.
Also – is it just me, or do those shadows on the wall look like giant bats? (No wonder I couldn’t sleep!)

Yes, now that you mention it, they do look like bats. Not very considerate of a motel to arrange for bats in the bedrooms.

It does seem like a curious marketing decision, doesn’t it?

I do like this but it’s borderline disturbing. Or is it just me?

I don’t think it is borderline disturbing. Because I think it is completely disturbing!
Those bat-shaped shadows, the jumble of pillows, the way the far side of the room recedes into darkness, the glow from the phone screen, the way the picture on the wall is too dark to see – all that adds up!
Oh, and none of this was staged, either, which adds even more to the disturbing nature of it.

Perhaps those are the angels of sleep. You know, the ones who followed you from the cemetery.

That would have been nice…but I am pretty sure they are the Insomnia Bats.
