it was love at first sight

The casita where we stayed last month was a delight. I’d fallen in love with it the minute I saw that blue screen door. The inside was so nice, spacious and comfortable, with just the right amount of decor. But I loved that blue door so much that the inside could have looked like a sketchy motel room and I wouldn’t have minded that much.

But in addition to the screen door, check out the shadows – New Mexican shadows are somehow…more shadowy that anywhere else. And those painted windowpanes?? Are you kidding me?!

(“Just let me know which windows you want me to start painting designs on when we get home.” – actual thing I said to my husband, who backed slowly away from me with a panicky look on his face.)
