Really, Austin?

Sometimes, I just don’t know what to think. Every now and then, things in Texas just seem so….crass.

Here’s an example. Just the other day, my pal in Canada posted this beautiful, simple shot of a clothesline against a blue sky. Go look at it. I’ll wait….

Nice shot, right? Simple, almost Zen-like.

At approximately the same time, I saw this:

  1. “every now and then”?!? Good grief, woman! I live in Dallas – I see ‘crass’ every day of my life!!! Heehee
I love the juxtaposition of your picture and your friend’s. We are all under the same sky 🙂

  2. I’m in Lubbock, where we have Big Hair, in spite of the wind….! So, yeah, I’ve seen my share of crass.

Good observation about being under the same sky!

    • I can’t explain it. It’s on the street that’s locally famous for its bars and related rowdiness, and so i assume there’s a correlation….

I would have missed seeing them at all, but I saw a woman taking a picture and looked to see what she was aiming at. It felt odd to be on the other side of THAT!

  4. Okay, maybe the boots on the line are a bit crass but the photo stands on it’s own. I think it’s very well done and I’m glad you caught it.

  5. Thanks for the mention!
Well, I like it too – it says all kinds of things about the Texas sky and what passes for song birds on a line. Or Heckle and Jeckle maybe. Good colour too. And not laces, at least not strung through eyelets.

    • I actually would have missed seeing this, because of the direction I was walking, but I saw a woman stop in the middle of the sidewalk to take a picture. Naturally, I looked to see what she saw, and there it was: gold boots, glittering in the sun!
