Would a “crispy” taco be the same as…

…a soft taco?

I can’t help it; sometimes my Inner Grammarian just gets out of control.

(OK, you’re right. It’s not just “sometimes.” It is more like “always.”)

Now seems like a good time to mention that, in spite of what you may have heard, I do not always travel with a thesaurus.

Ha! Ha! Of course not – I always have one with me. The Inner Grammarian makes me; she’s very difficult and it’s usually easier to just go along with her.

I’d like to say that seven days into this non-internet deal and I am over it. But I’d be lying. What’s going on out there, where you are?! Please leave comments, and I will read and reply after July 7.

  1. Wouldn’t a soft taco be more like a wrap?

  2. Since you are always sneaking around the back of buildings it seems that it is up to us to go inside and find out what their more public face is like. So, here you go:

And a bit of history about “crispy” tacos, which it seems are the same as “puffy” tacos – with or without quotation marks.
Would your inner grammarian accept those unnecessary quotation marks if she knew that El Matamoros “invented” the Crispy Taco?:

  3. I should not read blogs before breakfast! Now I want a taco! Crispy, please.
I doubt if these signs are going to attract too many customers. Maybe if they trim the vines growing up around them, But then it wouldn’t be as interesting, photographically speaking.

    • And, in addition to trimming the vines, they might consider moving the signs to the front of the building instead of leaving them in the alley. It’s an unusual and innovative solution that I pose, but I think it might work.
