Look! Another example of (strongly) converging verticals.
I am almost positive that the sign’s gone now; next time I am up that way, I’ll check on it. A lot of the buildings and signs that I’ve photographed over the past few years are gone; so many, in fact, that I am giving some thought to featuring them in a gallery here on the blog. (Posting this plan makes me accountable – you are encouraged to remind me if it looks like I am not making the gallery. And when/if reminders don’t work, you are authorized to switch to nagging.)

After this, only one more day…then I can see what I’ve been missing. And I can reply to your comments.

You haven’t missed much, unless you’re Egyptian. The clouds in the upper left give this a little bit more interest but even without them, it’s a great photo.

Thanks. I wonder why someone went to the trouble of stringing those lights around an empty sign….

I like your converging verticals, you do them well:) The lights are strange, but sure do a good job of pulling the eye into the circle. Perhaps there was a baby Jesus or other seasonal icon dangling in the circle nicely lit at night.

Maybe there were various seasonal decorations in addition to the Christmas ones. Or, the high school mascot (Hart Longhorns, to save you the trouble of looking it up) during football season.
