Actually it does make him stand out from the crowd. So maybe it’s quite a brilliant idea to wear the vest. 🙂

Yes, because that giant sign was barely noticeable!
That guy’d been at it for a while, carrying that sign or its predecessors around: his safety vest was faded, and I didn’t think that stuff EVER faded.
This was taken in 2007; I wonder if he’s still there? I should probably be diligent and plan another trip to England……

Personally, I like the street prophet I saw on Facebook that was carrying a sign that said: “The world will end in 4 billion years, repent to Stephen Hawking now!” (Or something to that effect…).

Do you think Facebook prophets will ever replace street prophets? (Today’s discussion question….)

With everyone dressed in dark colors the safety vest makes perfect sense. He gets noticed in spite of the sign.
I think street prophest will be around a lot longer than Facebook, too. The end is near!

That’s an excellent point. But I guess I’ll go ahead and do the laundry.

A Hi-Viz jacket – that’s taking religious fervour to a new level I think! And the Senate House in the background where I received my degree.

Was this guy wandering the streets when you were a student?
And the jacket: was he wanting earthly or heavenly notice? (Both is a possibility.)

I don’t think Hi-Viz jackets had been invented when I was an undergraduate!

He’d been safe for a long time: the vest was very faded. I guess that means it worked.
