Boots, buildings, and why one reminded me of the other

I realize that maybe my mind operates in a slightly more random way than might be considered normal.

That’s why this building reminded me of ostrich skin boots.

  1. You are right, that is an ostrich-skin façade … what was that architect thinking..?

    • Maybe…the architect’s spouse owned a western boot store that needed business, so he/she decided to send a subliminal message to BUY BOOTS through the texture on the wall. Other than that, I really don’t have any idea!

  2. It sure looks like ostrich-skin to me, too but I really like it (the building, not the ostrich-skin boots).

  3. Cool photograph and a very apt comparison!

  4. Yep, I see ostrich skin too. But not boots. A wallet, I think.

  5. I can see the association. Nice composition.

  6. I’ve never seen ostrich skin personally but I can see the similarity to turkey or even chicken. It’s the contrast between the building styles that makes this a compelling image.

  7. This does not seem all that random to me. For a Texan to associate a texture with cowboy boots seems really quite linear to me, even when in Florida.

    • If that sort of thinking seems linear to you, you probably are spending too much time reading this blog and have caught what ever it that I have. Unfortunately, I do not know of a cure. Please convey my most sincere apologies to your family.
