Urban Details: Water, dancing
While I was disappointed that I didn’t find the sorts of things I like to photograph during my short visit to Atlanta, it was a good experience for me, as I was forced to look at the sorts of things that I’d usually barely notice.
This shot, of the water feature at Centennial Olympic Park, kicks off my short series that I call Urban Details.
On weekends, this part of the park is overrun with kids (and adults, too, I expect) playing in the fountains. I was there on a weekday and it was mostly deserted.

Thanks, Laura. The fountain did a lot of different things so I sat on a low wall and shot a LOT of photos of the different water patterns. No one was playing in the water so I got some uncluttered shots.

Lol I actually had to double check who posted the image 🙂 :-). I guess it just means that there is nothing you can’t shoot well.

Well, I don’t know about THAT, but I certainly won’t discourage you from thinking it….
(Just a warning: there are three more days of these urban details shots. Then it’ll be back to normal. Or back to MY normal, anyway.)

Thanks, Marcus. You, too. (I am in New Mexico, meeting up with a photographer I met via our blogs.)

I can see all the people dancing and caught in a freeze frame shot, there is also something cinematic about the shot. Nice one.

Thanks. I took a lot of shots of the fountain, because it does a lot of different things. I took some longer exposures, too, but it was this frozen one that I liked best.

You did a great job. Sometimes we have to shoot a few to get a great shot.
