And so the day begins
If you ask me (which I realize you did not), the very best time to visit the famous Pike Place Market is early in the morning. How else can you see things like this, without vendors or shoppers?
Important Scheduling Note: you can get coffee as early as 6:00 a.m.

Melinda, love this image. To me really captures the calm before the storm that happens in that market.

Thanks, Larry! It’s good to hear from you. I was also at the market in the middle of the afternoon and it was so crowded I could barely move. Or make any photos! Early morning visits are much more enjoyable.

Thank you, Paul. I think that if I hadn’t been to the market previously, when it was almost too crowded to even move, I might have missed noticing this shot.

I find early morning photography to be the best for just that reason.

Absolutely. People just get in the way of things I want to shoot. (With a very few exceptions!)

Love how rectangles and you get along so well! Really nice feel to this photo, an early morning contemplation. I imagine that the people who work here like these moments the best out of their work days.

I know that if I worked there, these calm mornings would be my favorite part of the day!
I do seem to always find the rectangles, don’t I? I guess that’s the only thing that stuck in my head from all those years in architecture school!
