The morning alibi
Philosophically, I think taking early-morning photos of a place that’s famous for what goes on at night is similar to my usual routine of going around back.
Anyway, how fortunate was this find – the sidewalk outside a place called The Alibi getting cleaned of…whatever happened the night before?

Apart from the bins and the Jell-O shots sign this could be a hundred years ago. Even the hoser of ‘we dare not think what’ has an old time look about him.

I found this scene in the French Quarter in New Orleans, which has very strict guidelines on what changes owners are allowed to make to the buildings. (Summary: don’t change ANYTHING. I can’t explain that stucco building on the right side…!) I think the style of architecture, with the balconies and wrought iron railings contribute to the old-fashioned look.
Also: maybe Jell-O shots are older than we realize?!

Definitely! Jello-Shots were the unsung heroes of the prohibition era. They came in handy during the depression as they were used as both food and drink. 😊
