American Agriculture
My good friend Brett Erickson often speaks of the importance of finding (and photographing, of course) metaphors.
And, so, here’s one view of the future of American agriculture, where the newest thing in the entire scene is the container from a Japanese-based shipping company.

Can you do me a favor with that garden? Can you plant extra, and export to Texas? I’m not so good with the gardening….

Hmm – is that the office of the Secretary of American Agriculture? Or is it in praise of the field in front as evidence of American Agriculture. Or is it an advert in the process of preparation: ‘American Agriculture …….’ (to be completed).

Andy – all good ideas, of course. And I suppose any of them could be correct! Except maybe the Secretary of Agriculture offices in Washington DC, not a tiny town in Colorado; that doesn’t make sense, as there’s very little agriculture in Washington but no one ever said American government made sense!

I was speaking tongue in cheek about the ‘offices’ of course. It just amused me to see the wording writ large with no explanation, and the imagination just takes charge!

That very large sign did seem a bit…out of place, didn’t it?

It seemed a very important statement… that led nowhere
