Oh, yeah – that’s one big wash woman!

Sometimes when things end, you know it: the pieces are stacked up, you part with a handshake, and life goes on. Other times, you never see the end until it’s already gone.

It was sunny today, but cold. So I thought about my trip last summer to the east coast of Barbados.

You know, nothing really says, “We’re not even trying.” more than a city’s downtown where you don’t even have to look very hard to find barbed wire.

Although, to be fair, it does make my job more interesting.

While my husband was at bagpipe class* this afternoon, I treated myself to a photo walk in downtown.

Finding any one of the things in this shot would have been fun, but to spot
1. A broken window repaired with an N from a city council campaign sign**;
2. A pair of very white shoes hanging from a power line;
3. That also featured a partly unraveled slinky
was almost beyond belief.

*Bagpipe classes? Yes. Really. There’s no way I, even with my active imagination, could make that up.
