Far West Texas is my favorite part of the state – it’s got mountains, a nice dry climate, open spaces, and this gem – Balmorhea State Park. It’s an oasis where an artesian spring fills the world’s largest spring-fed swimming pool.
The pool and the buildings at the park were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 1930s. This is a view looking down at the handrail at the steps going down into the pool.

I had to look at this 3 different times before I realised it was not a horizontal view but a vertical one. Very disorienting! I like the crackly old paint.

That one is very nice too – thought it could not be much different. I can’t comment successfully at blogspot or I would have. Nice to have a link to one of your other blogs, now I will have to do some exploring…when I can find some time.

I almost didn’t post that link because I noticed how crappy a lot of the photos on that blog are! If you DO look around at that blog, just keep saying, “Melinda’s current photos don’t suck nearly as much as these do!”
