The very nice fonts on the signs are as good as reason as any to book a stay at the Sherbrooke Hotel, in Miami’s South Beach.

Absolutely terrific, Melinda, totally top drawer! I love the classic art-deco architecture and details in Miami, it will always remain one of my favorite parts of visiting Miami when I was a lot younger. You’ve done a wonderful job with this composition, creating a truly striking image. Love it!!

    • Thank you very much – Art Deco is one of my favorite styles. I like the architecture, the detailing, the colors – all of it really. And Miami’s South Beach is full of great examples. I was only there for an afternoon (I sneaked away from a conference!) and would love to go back.

  3. What a terrific image. I sure like curved corners on buildings. I hope they come back into fashion and soon – out with the kleenex boxes, in with the slow boats!

    • I happen to know some architects – I will pass along your request. We’ll hope for the best.

      • Fingers crossed. It is about time curves recirculated into fashion. I wonder if they are like skirt hem lengths, hard sharp edges in hard sharp times, curves in smoother times. Someone should do an MA on that topic.

      • Someone probably has done a thesis on it. Should we try to find a copy? (That reminds me that my favorite part of grad school was sitting around with my friends thinking up ridiculous thesis titles. And THAT makes me wonder if “ridiculous thesis titles” is redundant.)
