Life: ten birds

Life. Water flowing over the dam. A philosophical graffiti artist? Or an opportunistic one?

At any rate, those ten birds are keeping an eye on the place.

This is a really, really strong piece, pal! Super composition, nice layers, excellent interpretive stance, kick-butt textures… all there. Shazam!

    • Thanks, Brett. I drove by this, saw the graffiti, and DIDN’T STOP. What was wrong with me?! Fortunately, I came to my senses, made two u-turns (or, as I call them, “photographer’s turns”), and rectified my earlier mistake.

I think making U-turns is the mark of a serious photographer. Personally, I’m a moving traffic violation wandering the Sandhills of Nebraska. People must often think I’m lost. REALLY lost. 🙂

      • During my decade of photographing roadside crosses, I made so many u-turns that it’s kind of amazing I didn’t end up as a roadside cross myself!

  2. I don’t know but it’s very photogenic. Definitely stop-worthy.

  3. There is a lot going on here, any two parts in combination would make a great shot, and many would stand well on their own. Pretty lucky to find them all layered like that. I especially like the textured concrete foreground.

And clever to point out the birds so that those of us with aging eyes click on the image to see the larger version, which everyone should do as it really looks good magnified a bit more.

    • Yes, that was my plan all along – to get people to look at the larger version.

      Or, you know, not.

Also – at first I counted eleven birds. When I decided it was actually ten, I changed the title. It might have been more interesting – or diabolical – to leave it….
