See it. But don’t believe it.
Another view of a movie set in the wilds of West Texas that I featured earlier this year.
As with the previously-featured building, this one was disconcerting: the exterior looked old, with the hitching post out front and that porch roof made of branches*. But on the inside, modern-day plywood was visible…

*Correctly called latillas, which I could pretend I knew all along, but which actually I only just now looked up. We strive for honesty here at One Day | One Image. Unless an exaggeration** or cheap joke seems more appropriate.
** Actual comment, from my spouse to me, said without irony: You always exaggerate.

The words “spaghetti western” come to mind looking at this.

I know what you mean – in fact it is almost impossible to look at this and NOT think “spaghetti western”!

I don’t see any spaghetti.

Actually “latilla” is Spanish for “spaghetti” – so what looks like branches over the porch is actually spaghetti.
Or something like that.

You ARE speaking to your Research Department. ‘small stick’ and ‘spaghetti’ are a few worlds apart, especially when wet.

It looks pretty authentic to me, but, hey, I’m from New York. And I’ve told you a million times not to exaggerate!

Thanks, Ron. An earlier commenter said this place is in danger from floods, so I am happy I took the time to stop and check it out last winter.

That’s a wonderful image. I love the shadows from the ‘spaghetti’.
What really catches my eye is the little lit-up cross in the doorway. Is that just a fantastic trick of light? anyway, it’s wonderful!

Karen, the cross is a hole in the wall on the far side of the building, letting light through. It’s not as cross-shaped as it looks in the photo, which sort of makes it more interesting, I think.
Glad you like this one!
