I’m not even going to ask what a “Calf Fry Platter” is but it looks like my kind of eatin’ place!

See where it says “have a ball” on the billboard. That’s a hint re. the calf fries……
Also, this place is famous for the free 72 oz steak, if you can eat in in one hour. Here are the rules, in case you’re interested: http://bigtexan.com/72oz-steak-rules/

You know the difference between a bull and a steer? That’s where calf fries come from. If you don’t know the difference, y’all aren’t from Texas.

Yep. That’s right.

Ahh, Rocky Mountain Oysters is what they are called around here. We don’t have big signs advertising them though.

Yep. Same thing. Here’s a well-known (in cowboy poetry circles, anyway) poem called “The Oyster” – http://dairydaze.blogspot.com/2008/03/oyster.html

I have a colleague from a ranching family. She is a dab hand at this particular activity and goes home every year to help out. The guys in the office tend to be extra careful to not be offensive to her in any way.
For some reason the office is transitioning from almost all men to almost all women.

At least it’s not transitioning to geldings!

I am now singing that ‘Amarillo’ song: ‘Is this the way to Amarillo’ as sung by Neil Sedaka. A great song and a fun image.

When you get tired of that song, you might want to sing “Amarillo Highway” by Terry Allen (http://bit.ly/17DHep2). And my apologies to your wife if your singing is getting on her nerves….
