Sometimes the reason is different than you think
I thought I was taking this photo because of all those lovely rectangles in the windows.
I don’t mind being wrong: when I looked at the photo, I thought I’d taken it because of what looks like an art gallery in the room beyond the windows.
I still don’t mind being wrong: after I looked at it some more, I realized that I’d taken it because of the different glass in the windows and the way the light’s reflected differently across the bank of windows. Some of it’s wavy, some of it distorts the reflection, some of it looks like there’s not even glass there at all.

This is surely among your best. You could not have made it a better composition. Even the weeds break up but emphasize the stark symmetry above.

I thought there might have been a chair in there…

I think the best I can do on this one is an implied chair….

I do like the rectangles within rectangles within more rectangles. Nicely framed.
I see that the light fixtures are just like the ones we bought for our house. Classic warehouse.

Thanks – this one DOES have a lot of rectangles.
I have similar light fixtures in my pantry/laundry room, only in red. Why red? Why not?

Mine were red, too!!!

Which just proves that both of us have excellent taste in light fixtures.

That would be amazing studio space. All the window variations are wonderful. I think you do have good taste in lighting!

Those windows face north, so the diffused lighting would contribute to its being an amazing studio space.

A fascinating image. You know I’m a greater lover of geometry, especially when it also involves glass – it has so many great properties.

Thanks, Andy. I like geometry, too. I don’t care for symmetry, though.

Very nice, rectangle city, and an interesting interior.

And it’s in Marfa! BTW, I had more photos from Marfa on the blog this year than I did from Lubbock…..

Maybe that is because you have “done” Lubbock and need to go further away. Or perhaps it is a message that you need to move.

I’d move pretty quickly, but there’s that whole job-and-paycheck thing in Lubbock. Oh, and a house that’s paid for.

Anchors. You just need to put their chains around the winch, and haul them in!

Uh…we don’t have anchors around here. Our lakes are about 4″ deep.

Oh. Well, that comes across as an overly forced metaphor in that context.

Ohhhhh! A metaphor! We don’t get those much around here.
