Corner Window
Say it’s a sunny, cool spring day, and you don’t have a precise schedule. And say the state highway department is very good about signage, so that narrow roads that lead to tiny and remote country cemeteries are clearly marked. And say that your driver is good with the plan to turn down as many of these narrow roads as you want to take, just so both of you can see what’s there.
That is how I ended up at the Knobbs Springs Cemetery, just a few miles down County Road 305. But the real find down that road was an old wooden church next to the new, brick Knobbs Springs Baptist Church. The narrow white boards could have used a new coat of paint, and the windows might have benefitted from being washed. But, then again, this photo wouldn’t have had nearly the same look, would it?

No, it wouldn’t. I will use this excuse next time someone asks me to wash our windows at home. It does make a very nice photo, though.

Yes, please do NOT wash your windows. I might be in Webster (Where Life is Worth Living) some day and want to photograph them. I’d hate for your windows to be too clean for a good photo….

The temperature has to increase another 60 degrees for me to wash the windows. But that can happen in a single day here. If you want to come to Webster (Where Life is Worth Livind), wait untill at least May. Most of the snow will be gone by then.

Late May is a good bet for a visit here. We have had quite a lot of snow in April some years and that’s why I suggested May. As I write, we are experiencing the worst storm of the season (so far) with a foot of snow and high winds, a bad combination. But a few 80 degree days and the snow is gone. It’s just that it doesn’t get to 80 degrees until July.

So you meant the part of May that’s so late it’s actually July?
I saw the weather news this morning and it looked as though your part of the country was getting hit pretty hard. We had a haboob yesterday (http://bit.ly/1gboQRY) with wind gusts as high as 70 mph. This morning along the highway I take to work there were several places where the tumbleweeds were piled up as high as the fence. I tell you this so snow + wind won’t seem so bad…..
