May be why the willow weeps
Ice-crusted branches on the willow tree on day two of my winter series.
I liked the reminder that the branches were once pliable enough to be knotted like this, but the knot itself seemed cruel.

I agree with your sentiments, Melinda. But it does make for a striking photograph.

Thanks, Linda. I also saw a long strand of branches that had been braided together. It was close to this knot, which made me wonder if the same person did both of them.
