These grave-site pickets caught my attention, the way their blackened ends poked at the sky. They don’t seem especially comforting to me, but I will assume that Sr. Martinez is resting peacefully.

I don’t know – this isn’t a common thing for grave markers, so maybe it means something to the family. (They look like matches, to me.)
