“Nearly” is long enough
Those too-short curtains reminded me of my high school days, standing on the beige ottoman in the den while my mother pinned the hems in my dresses. It was the 1970s, so of course she never pinned them short enough to suit me. But I was resourceful, and predictably devious, and would always offer to sew the hems. At that point, it was just a matter of moving the pins up a inch* before I started sewing.

You naughty girl! Did she notice? (I have had trouble sending you am email. Hope you got at least one of my three attempts!)

I don’t know how she could have NOT noticed: some of them were pretty short! And I did get your email – I’m traveling for work now so maybe I’ll have a surprise in the mail tomorrow when I get home.

Phew. I’m glad. There was a short one followed by another that had a copy of that with more added further along that answered your previous long message. Enjoy your travels!
