Importance of local commerce
This business is, I am sure, critical to the local economy. It’s part of the vast agribusiness infrastructure of the South Plains. I think it is, anyway. There’s not a sign or anything like that to tell me.
I guess they’re operating on the principle that if you need to know what the name of the place is, and what it does, you’ll somehow just know.

Newest thing in town
I am not actually certain that this playground equipment was the newest thing in town, but my quick visual inspection indicated that it might be.
Also – in case you’re planning a visit and want to fit in – the town’s pronounced “Medda.” Really. I’m not setting you up for ridicule or anything. That’s how we talk out here.
