It took me a while to know this about myself, but once I figured out that I needed horizons and sky to be comfortable, I was a lot more content. That’s what happens when you grow up on the Plains. Oh, sure, I like the mountains. And trees, too. But not for long – after a few days I am ready to get back to these sweeping views.

The post-processing was a nice surprise. It wasn’t the look I was going for, or what I thought I wanted. But I guess the Photoshop gods had a better idea than I did!

Totally agree on today’s photos. I find myself feeling CLOSED IN with all the trees and mountains. I need to see what to expect at the next exit on the highway.

Yes, exactly – how else do you know if that’s the exit you even WANT?
When I lived in New Orleans, I’d have to go sit on the levee on Lake Pontchartrain, just to be able to see a long way!
