We were looking for something. It wasn’t down this road: at the point where we ran out of pavement and huge puddles took over, it seemed like a good place to turn around. Which put me on the correct side of the car to see these clouds.

It took me a while to know this about myself, but once I figured out that I needed horizons and sky to be comfortable, I was a lot more content. That’s what happens when you grow up on the Plains. Oh, sure, I like the mountains. And trees, too. But not for long – after a few days I am ready to get back to these sweeping views.
