Corrugated iron gives such an eye-popping texture, you are lucky to have lots of it to work with, not much around my part of the world.

We DO have a lot of it – cotton gins, barns, industrial buildings. It’s so arid here there’s not much concern about rust!

I quite like it when galvanised and a bit rusty, but we don’t see much even of the galvanised. Wood has been quite cheap here, at least until recently, so that will be part of the equation too. And, shingled walls have a similar vibrance to the corrugated surface, though maybe not quite so eye confusing.

and when, how, and why?
