In triplicate

Well, I suppose if one stairstep-plus-an-arch facade is good, then three of them must be even better. Right?

If you keep on going past these triplets, and turn left at the end of the street, you’ll be on highway 207. Keep going long enough and you’ll end up in Silverton, Texas. Which should not be confused with Silverton, Colorado. Or Silverton, Oregon. Just to clarify.

  2. You forgot to mention the beautiful sky. It looks very unusual.

  3. Beautiful sky, nice contrasty shot. I haven’t been to Silverton, Colorado in years – maybe I’ll head up there this year to shoot some stuff. As I recall, there’s lots of old buildings and such, not to mention a train…Silverton/Durango…

    • I was in Silverton in 2009 (rode the train, actually) and the place looked just like I remember from when I was a kid (which was a long time ago). And your recollection is correct – there are a lot of old buildings. In fact, I can’t specifically recall anything that appeared to be new….

  4. The sky is combed beautifully Melinda. The facade, to my eye, is so typical of what I remember from Westerns etc.

    • I asked my husband, who is an architect, if that facade style had a particular name. He said, “Uhhh…wild west?” He didn’t say it with a great deal of authority, so I didn’t quote him in the post, but maybe he was right!

  5. Yep, I’m really feeling the facades! I agree with your husband (whatever tone he used :p), wild west; my imagination takes my away.
