Thanks, Andy. I was lucky with those clouds. Santa Rosa’s in an arid region and the skies are usually clear; and a clear sky would have been a little too boring above these lights.

There is something about your ‘looking up’ perspectives that always intrigue me. Those organic sky details and angular contrasts, I think. Maybe the spare loneliness of the subjects too. Beautiful work, Melinda.

“hovering” is a great way of putting it. Rather like long stalked flowers of some kind, carnivorous ones probably. I am glad you made it away in one piece.

These lights looked relatively stable, but I don’t think I’d stand close to them in a high wind….
