Carnival, 1

Remember that thing I said yesterday, about how color would be shocking?

So, yeah. This.

It’s a big deal when the fair’s in town. I don’t mind going, as long as I can find some delicious roasted corn. And can make a few photos. This is what happens when I decide to shoot a little of series of shots of this bungee-cord ride.

Patterns of endless repetition

Every now and then I turn my camera away from old buildings. It doesn’t happen often, and I apologize if this shot of some interesting leaves startled you. At least it’s not it color, though, because that would just be shocking.

It’s all geometry

Geometry was the only math class I liked. Perhaps that resulted in my love of photographing rectangles.

At any rate, I located this set of geometries in an out-of-the-way street in Barbados.

I’ve been here, taking this class. Tonight, I go see this. And I’ll be home tomorrow and can respond to your comments.

The secret is to stay out of the sun

These shutters are like a sunhat for this building. They keep the sun off the windows, but allow the ocean breezes in.

While you are reading this, I am wearing my own hat, to keep the desert sun off my face. I’ll be back around shortly and will reply to your comments as soon as I can.

Sometimes the light

Sometimes the light just hands you a gift.

The morning had been overcast, but just as we got to this building, the sun broke through and…this happened.

One day a few months, one of my photographer pals phoned me up and encouraged me to take a particular class at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops; that’s where I am this week. Because of that, it will probably take me a while to respond to your comments. But I will get to them.
