Swallows’ nests, and the sun
Up there, where the sun doesn’t shine, was a cluster of swallows’ nests.

The dark swath across the sky
In addition to the gravel road from the other day, we found another one on our way to Trinchera, Colorado.
We also found a railroad bridge that crossed tiny Trinchera Creek. And since we were on a little-used road, it was easy to pull over and climb down to the stream and have a look around. (The graffiti tells me we weren’t the first ones to do so.)
The best part was the way the bridge cut across the sky.

Dusty ghosts of time
Sometimes when I make these through-dirty-windows shots, I don’t know what’s going to show up in the image. Like this one – I didn’t expect the statues down there at the front of the church. Or that card table.

I believe this old tub has seen many generations of late-summer sunflowers come and go.
