The night door

Next to this building, the soft light of the frosted-glass door spills out onto South Congress Avenue. I had to time the shot to occur during gaps in pedicabs heading down the sidewalk toward the more lively parts of South Congress.

I’ve always liked the haunting simplicity of doors, bare walls, tonalities, and shadows. Cool use of light.

    • I thought I was through taking pictures, having exhausted the banal shots of downtown Austin reflected in the lake. Then I spotted this door. Note that I haven’t (and won’t) post any of the city reflection shots, proving once again that minutia is a lot more interesting!

This is without a doubt one of my favorites from you.
You captured in this shot such a mysterious atmosphere.
    Great light!
