Complete motor service
Although I really do want to believe the sign that promises complete motor service, I sort of doubt it.
But I didn’t need my car repaired when I was in town. And I was looking around for things to photograph, so it all worked out. My favorite thing here is that grain on the piece of plywood that’s covering (I am guessing) a window.

The plywood is nice but I love the all-corrigated construction, including the roof. The 55 gallon drums are a nice touch, too.

Yeah, I carry those 55 gallon drums around in the backseat of my car, just in case I need them to “stage” the scene.

I’ll bet there’s a chair in the backseat, too!

No, but that’s a damn good idea.
Back when I posted this shot – http://bit.ly/1fePWdz – Ehpem and I had a bit of a conversation about the fact that the chair in the photograph was gone the next time I was at the site. We decided the thing to do would be to take a replacement chair to leave in the spot. So, maybe at some point I WILL have a chair in the backseat, wedged between the barrels.

I spotted that grain too – that looks superb doesn’t it. This is a classic shot of your ‘genre’ Melinda.

It made me think of architecture school, back in the 1970s, when everything was hand drafted, including wood grain. For some reason, I was very fond of drawing wood grainy….
Thanks for calling this a “classic”!

When I see this, I can feel the dry searing heat of the Texas sun.

Parts of the state are pretty humid – but you are right: this was shot in the “dry searing heat” region!

oh, that’s very true; I do recall a camping trip not far from San Antonio in August!!! If I could have peeled my skin off, I would have done so.

I know what you mean: I lived in New Orleans for several years, and was glad to get back to a nice, arid climate!

I can’t believe it has been more than two weeks and I have not seen this photo! Goes to show what happens when one leaves one job and tries to get another going.
I like the combo of plywood and corrugation – they go together very well!

I do remember, and it serves me right for working backward through your posts or I would have seen how carefully you set it all up, weeks in advance.
