Actually, Andy, you are barking up exactly the right tree: Frank Gehry designed both of these buildings. His stuff is all suggestive of all his other stuff, and not necessarily in a good way (in my opinion). To me, it is suggestive of wadded up aluminum foil.

I was on a tour in Boston a few years ago and we went by a building Gehry designed on the campus of MIT – it’s famous for two things. One is that it’s a Gehry building. And the other thing is that it has (of course) those big sloping panels on it. In this particular building, those panels slope down and dump rain water on the main entrance of the building, which is the sort of thing a student in freshman design would be ridiculed for. It was very interesting that the tour guide was making comments about the bad design.
